about us Mark and Myshel Morgan are the artists behind M. Morgan Fine Art Photography. Our mutual love of photography and complimentary skills led us to pursue our dream of working together. Our work is shown at Art Festivals in Northern California and featured in select retail and restaurant locations in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We primarily shoot medium format with our Fuji GX680 and Mamiya 645AF cameras and occasionally we’ll lug around our 4x5 View Camera. The Mamiya is useful when traveling by foot because of its smaller size but our favorite camera is the Fuji because of the lens movements and perspective control usually found only on View Cameras. These medium and large formats allow a substantial degree of enlargement while retaining exceptional detail. Our Color and Black & White photography started with traditional methods and dark room techniques and evolved with the quickly changing world of photography. We feel that we now have the best tools available to create the art we envision. To achieve our unique Colorized images, we use a variety of traditional panchromatic and infrared films, then apply our imaging techniques to selectively color all or part of the composition. The amount of color applied ranges from very subtle up to the more saturated appearance of a traditional hand painted photograph. The end result is a surreal representation of a real location. Our background in Commercial/Architectural photography led to our love of historic architecture and the mixture of botanical elements with manmade structures. We find these photogenic scenes in our favorite locations such as, Paris, the South of France, the US, and especially California. Also appreciating the untouched landscapes of the Southwest, we regularly visit Arizona, Utah and New Mexico to explore the bounty of colors and textures in the desert. Thanks for visiting our site. We hope you enjoy viewing our images as much as we enjoyed creating them.
